Overview

Villa La Magia is a charming house dating back to the 18th century, rich in history and testimonies of the period, which has been totally renovated, recovering the original materials such as terracotta floors and the characteristic exposed beams. The rooms are refined, the furniture has been chosen with care and taste by the owners who have created a wonderful blend of elegance and modernity.

Respecting the style of the classic Tuscan farmhouses, the house has many, practical French windows in various parts of the house that allow access to the beautiful park surrounding it. The residence is framed by breathtaking landscape, green and pristine, with a view over majestic hill scenery.

In fact, another of its strong points is the geographic location: short trips will take you to the most famous seaside resorts near Grosseto like Castiglione, della Pescaia, Orbetello, Follonica, Capalbio, Punta Ala. Equally close are localities of great historical and artistic importance like Vetulonia with its Etruscan excavations, beautiful Siena or Montalcino, famous for its food and wine and its innumerable beautiful landscapes.

Just few kilometers from the property is the famous Rocca di Frassinello, a cellar designed by the architect Renzo Piano, where you can taste wines of great value. In a couples of hours it is possible to reach Pisa, Florence and Rome.

La Magia has been subjected to a check-up by a technical responsible before the beginning of the season, to ensure consistency of the description, accessories listed on this page and their present state of operation/maintenance, to guarantee quality, cleanliness and comforts to all clients who will stay here.

Villa La Magia Overview

The house has two entrances, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor reached albo by the external staircase.

The ground floor entrance opens onto the kitchen which leads to a bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom, an open plan living-dining room and a studio with library and direct access to the solarium area through a French window.

On the ground floor is a beautiful bathroom with whirlpool bath and French window onto the pool area. The first floor, fournished by independent access from an external staircase on the side of the house is reachable also trough a spiral staircase situated in the studio with library, consists of a spacious double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower, fireplace and double sofa bed and another two double bedrooms with two adjoining bathrooms, one with shower and one with tub. Please note that the fireplaces are ornamental.

Exterior:

The beautiful fenced park surrounding the house, that measures about 12.000 square metres, is full of hedges marking the border and characteristic cypresses, the symbol par excellence of Tuscany.

The well-kept English lawn has many paths flanking the house with areas of natural shade and lush fragrant plants like roses, oleanders and herbs. The external dining area is located between the house and the pool.

Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Private pool:

The fenced swimming pool is situated on the same level than the house and can be seen from it, being adjacent to it. Rectangular in shape, it measures 13 x 4,80 m with a constant depth of 1,40 m. It has chlorine purification, both internal and external lighting and is lined in white PVC and mosaic.

Access to the water is via ladder and it is totally fenced-in, with foot washing and automatic shower at the entrance. The solarium area is provided with sunbeds and umbrellas; the pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

Weekly rentals:

The standard typology is the one that foresees the regular Saturday- Saturday stay. In this case it is possible to send a request or to directly book online.

Short stays and non-weekly stays:

For some periods it is possible to make shorter stays starting from 5 nights.

Water, gas for kitchen use, weekly linen change, initial and final cleaning, park and pool maintenance, internet wireless connection

Tourism tax (€ 2,00 per person per day for the first 10 nights. Please note that children under 16 years old will not pay), electricity € 400,00/week. N.B. These costs, not included in the price list, will be calculated at the reservation time and due at the balance payment.

Daily extra cleanings (€ 22,00/hour/cleaner), extra linen (between € 37,00 and € 42,00 per person), heating (€ 700,00/week), extra when animals are present (€ 30,00 per animal per week)

Distances

Situated amongst the characteristic hills of Tuscany, La Màgia offers an ideal, well-rounded holiday for its proximity to such historical towns as Siena, Scansano and Castagneto Carducci. The Etruscan coast is famous for its historical settlements, for the production of quality wines such as Ornellaia and Sassicaia and for its famous wildlife reserve beaches like Calaviolina, Cala di Forno and Collelungo.

A few kilometres away are the thermal baths of Saturnia, known for its natural waterfalls; and for golf lovers the province of Grosseto offers the possibility of playing in Saturnia, Punta Ala, Monte Argentario and Golf del Pelagone which distances only 15 km from the villa. The village of Giuncarico (hamlet of Gavorrano - Grosseto), incorporated by walls of the XI sec., is located on top of a hill overlooking the Bruna river valley along the highway 1 Via Aurelia connecting Livorno and Grosseto. From up there you can see over hills and verdant and pristine hills of iridescent sea of the Etruscan coast of the Maremma.

The geographical location of the village allows you to reach with short trips the most famous seaside resorts of Grosseto (km. 25) as: Castiglione della Pescaia (km. 27), the Switzerland of the Maremma and the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Follonica (km. 24), Orbetello (km. 70), Capalbio (km. 86), Punta Ala (km. 40). Also set close to locations of great historical and artistic value such as Vetulonia (km. 11), where there are Etruscan ruins, Siena (km. 94) fraught with power and art history, Montalcino (km. 74) famous for the ' food and wine and its countless beautiful scenery including the famous Abbey of Sant'Antimo (km. 12 +); in addition, of course, in Pisa (km. 138) and Rome (km. 215). Nearby is the Castel di Pietra where it appened the sad story of Pia Dei Tolomei, wife of Nello d'Inghiramo, lord of the castle. The episode is remembered by Dante in the fifth canto of Purgatory (vv. 130-136): "Remember me, who am the Pia; Siena made me, Maremma unmade: He knoweth the man who married had won my finger with his ring ".
